Saddle Up to the Bayou Country Superfest

April 27th, 2018 | New Orleans Events

Looking for a way to make your Memorial Day weekend memorable? Book a trip to New Orleans and reserve your tickets to the Bayou Country Superfest!

Held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome located just 1.5 miles from the  Andrew Jackson Hotel, enjoy the country music festival held May 27 that has an all-star lineup. The bill includes the beloved George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town and more for your Memorial Day Sunday.

More events are planned leading up to the May 27 show. Friday, May 25, the superfest will hold a huge fireworks display over the Mississippi River as a “Salute to America.” On Saturday, May 26, a concert will be held at Champions Square featuring Randy Houser, Michael Ray and Runaway June. Presented by Louisiana Seafood, the Bayou Saturday Night concert is free and open to the public.

Past Bayou Country Superfest stars have included Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Brooks & Dunn, and Kenny Chesney, to name a few. The event became a Memorial weekend hit when it premiered in 2010. The largest attendance to date was 135,000 attendees.

Make sure to book your room at  Andrew Jackson Hotel ahead of time to ensure a room in the prime location of the French Quarter for Memorial Day weekend. Aside from Bayou Country events, enjoy the neon lights of Bourbon Street during your trip to the Big Easy.

New Orleans is also home to the National World War II Museum, which is an honorable way to pay respects to our fallen soldiers over Memorial Day weekend.

If you’re looking to enjoy a Memorial Day barbecue, New Orleans never stops short of a good, hearty meal. New Orleans Online suggests you try McClure’s Barbecue located in the Garden District for brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and other tasty BBQ specials.

Also, enjoy the usual Memorial Day Nola hangout at The Fly, a waterfront portion of Audubon Park located on the west end of Magazine Street. Bring a frisbee, drinks, pack a barbecue and enjoy the communal gathering in an outside setting.
